2s4yl42 - No Impossible Dreams

A quick post before heading to bed. This will probably be my last post for a few days.
This card was created using Laura's sketch at 2Sketches4You. I really wanted to use this mermaid image I purchased from Shirley's2Girls. I colored her with Spicas and Copics. TFL

MTSC54 - Love Simply

Snow, snow, snow...
We got more snow this evening! Zackary is lovin' this! As for me, it would be nice if he could go outside and play some time. :O) All in all we are doing pretty good. Having some fun. We baked Nestle Toll House cookies today. Hub's bro and his family and another sister in law and niece all arrive on Weds. night, just about the time we get home from our 32nd anniversary dinner. Been looking forward to this visit for a while. Zack is very excited about his big cousin Josh coming too. Josh is a sweetie. He has the patience of Job when it comes to Zackary. He will sit with Zack and play his video game and explain every move to Zack.
Ok so on to my card. I created this card using Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #54. It's an AWESOME sketch! I used my Spellbinders Borderabilities Lattice for the bottom decoration on my card (note* I used the cut out pieces for hinges on my stamped image). I also used my new Ornamental Iron ef for the middle section. My NEW Xyron CREATOPIA embossed my shiny cardstock. I ran it through and embossed one edge then turned it and ran it through again on the other edge. The stamps; both the sentiment and the tree are from There She Goes stamps. I love this tree! I snipped my corners using my 1" circle punch. The ink I used for stamping the tree is ColorBox classic pigment ink in Heliotrope. For my sentiment I used CTMH in Pansy Purple.
What you see that looks like an imperfection in the top right hand corner is just a lighted magnifying lamp reflection in the shiny cardstock.

CCCCA10 - Happy Birthday

Hello:

So glad you could join me. I normally play every week with Stacey's color challenges. But for some reason I have missed a few weeks. Stacey draws her color challenges from just about anywhere and this week the colors are truly YUMMMM-O! They are as follows: Pretty In Pink, Pink Passion, Whisper White, Real Red, and Crushed Curry. I used all of them but I didn't see the Whisper White until my card was complete. So, I guess I screwed up. But I LOVE my card anyhoo. Hope you enjoy looking at it.

My card is an easel card. The deminsions are 5 x 11 inches. The flowers are from Prima and I love them!!! The pattern papers are once again from the paper pack my daughters gave me for Christmas, ki Classic Prints. Sentiment - JustRite Stamps. The swirlie & medallion are from ProvoCraft, both on the same die. Kaiser crystals. The glittery ribbon is from Joanns.

TPE47 - Bone-jour

Hi Again!
This is my last post for today. I am getting sleepy and finding I am having a hard time keeping my eyes open. This card came out better than I thought it would. Another one of Shirley's2Girls stamps. The paw prints are stamped individually. Created for the challenge at The Pink Elephant. The sentiment is from Artful Inkables.

SFUTT - Hello & SSS36 - Friendship

Hello:
A few minutes alone to create some cards. Too Zack to look at Christmas lights for the last time of the year, I think. Then read him Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. Now he's sound asleep. So I took this opp. to play!
Below are two cards I was able to create and get posted. The first one is for the sketch challenge at Sketch for You 2 Try at I{heart}2stamp. I used tons of chipboard from Crate Paper chipboard accents Season Collection. The pattern paper is from DCWV The Crafty Stack. This card was created using the sketch challenge at The Sweet Shop Sketch Challenge Blog. The stamps are from Shirley's2Girls. The flourish is from ProvoCraft. It's a portion cut from a die. The pattern paper is from DCWV The Sweet Stack. Crystals are from Kaiser. The charm is a found piece from an old earring.
I think these stamps are soo cute! I love the puppies that they have at Shirley's2Girls.

C4C17 - Friends

Morning After....

Zack's playing with gifts Santa brought and watching cartoons. Mike is in the garage playing with his new HEAT GUN I gave him. Holli is sick in bed with sinuses. Jessi is at work (poor Jess). I am playing with my CREATOPIA and making a card. Below is a card I made using the Crazy4Challenges #17 sketch. It's made using the NEW paper pack my kiddoes gave me for Christmas (kimemories Classic Prints). I still haven't mastered these rub-on stitches. But I do enjoy playing with them!

MOJO118 - Deepest Sympathy

Hello Again:
It's been a few days since I was able to get to create anything on my own. Most of the "projects" these days are done with Zack. But it seems this has been the a bad time for my hub's radio club. Just since Dec. 1 they have lost 3 members. This is a sympathy card for one of the wives. I used the MOJO 118 sketch. TFL T%dles Peeps!

C4C16 - Treat Boxes - Santa & Tree

Hi!
We picked up our grandson Zackary on Sunday. He's been here with me and I've been sick as a dog. I've got some kind of stomach virus. I am praying he DOES NOT catch it. But today I felt good enough to craft with him. Oh Zack calls it. "making projects". Below you can see the two treat boxes we worked on for Crazy4Challenges challenge this week. I drew Santa and cut him out while Zack did the coloring. He also punched the holes for the ribbon handles and put the brads on. This is a treat box for his mommy. We also baked cookies this morning.
This treat box is for Mr. Devin, Zack's mommy's boy friend. I drew the tree and put on the stickles. Zack added all the other embellies and punched the holes and added the brads to hold on the ribbon handle.
I hope wherever you are you are enjoying one on one time with those you love. Zackary and I are having a ball!!!

TESC95 - Gift Cards 2 for 1

Hidee Ho Neighbors!
Well, I bought gift cards for my sister in law and my youngest daughter and figured I'd better put them in something fancy instead of the store packaging. I saw the Taylored Espressions sketch and decided to use that. Below in the first picture you will see the little elf. Well that is actually the gift card. it just slips in, right behind the snowflake border I punched. As you can see in the picture below, it's very east to remove the gift card and the base card is still very pretty with the glittery snowflakes.
Below is version 2. The gift pockets are inside. Since the shop didn't have one card for the rigth denomination, I had to buy two.

Hence the two pockets. See below.

USS36 - enjoy

Hello:
When I received Sg55 - Domino's Amusing stamp from Shirley's2Girls.com I just had to play with it. As you can see, Domino is just too cute! This card was created using Saturday's sketch over at Unscripted Sketches. I used the pattern paper and the matte paper from Basic Grey's Ambrosia paper pad. The silver metal embllies are all from We R Memory Keepers. The little yellow and red brads (enjoy is a brad too) were from a RAK. The stamped part held by the ribbon is from Kenner Road. I can't amke it all out, I know it's a date and then part of a word and then of Sulfer Springs, TEXAS. The star is chipboard I colored with yellow and then orange Copic markers. Domino was colored using Spica. TFL

Jbell Tuesday Sketch plus a few others...

Ok so I played hookie today. I really needed a break. Then the hubs came home and said he needed some Christmas cards for work. So I got to crankin'. One of these you've seen before. The others are all new. The one on the far right was created using the sketch from Jacksonbelle Tuesday Sketch Challenges. You can see it below. Hubs took the picture and it's a little blurry and he didn't take it on a clear space. But you get the gist of it.

7 Gypsies - Product Challenge

Hello Again!
So this is created using the challenge idea from 7 Gypsies blog. I don't own any monogram stamps so I used chipboard alphas from DCWV Holiday Collection. The ribbon is from Ki. This is a very ssimple project and you could easily make multiples of this one in no time. Thanks for looking.

SASPT - Be Mine MUGS....

Hi There! So happy you could drop in!
I have created so many Christmas/Winter Holiday cards that I am ready for a change. Now I STILL want to be creating so I've moved on to 2010 holidays. My card today is for the challenge over at Stamps And Smiles' blog Project Tuesday challenge. The challenge this week was to make a side step card. Now this is a FIRST for me! I used my Nesties hearts for this creation. I am hoping to get to use them a little more for this coming Valentine's. I also have various heart shaped punches. I used them as well as some white mulberry paper with little red hearts in it.
Now if you need a break from Christmas cards or just want to try a new technique give this little side step card a try. It's not really hard at all and it's quite fun to make!

On another note...

MUGS! This summer I purchased a used dining set. I LOVE IT! So finally I get to decorate my dining table!!! I have been holding on to a few items for years. But last night, while out looking at Christmas lights I asked my hibs to stop in at CVS pharmacy so we could look for some table decorations. We found these adorable latte/hot cocoa mugs at 2/$300. Now that's my kind of deal! You might notice there are only 7. Well, we had 8 but when I was putting them in the dishwasher for a little scrub, I notice the handle of one was cracked and chipped. So hubs, the wonderful man he is, is going to exchange it on his way home tonight. Now I am not a matchy-matchy person but we could not find (after visiting 3 different CVS pharmacies) all the same or 8 different designs. So I settled for 2 red snowflakes, 2 Tis da Season, and the rest are all different!

So what do you think???

ICS47 - Merry Christmas

Ok so I THOUGHT I was finished creating Christmas cards. LOL Seems every day I get a card from someone I forgot to put on my list. Anyhoo, I created this card for a friend using the sketch at Inspirational Card Sketches #47. Stack mat All Dressed Up from DCWV is my background. I don't remember where the bird stamp came from but it's stamped in white ink on white cs and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. So is the sentiment. Then I sponged alternating shades of blue and green. Kaiser rhinestone eye. Feather tail. Stick pin is from Keep in Touch kits and I added some beads from an old Scarlet Lime kit. Ribbons are Ki. Rhinestone flourish is from Prima.

MMSC32 - Love

Last Call...
Tonight I was surfing around and I happen to visit "priscillastyles" Midnight Madness blog. I saw the NEW sketch they've posted and all the lovely things the dt has created. Ok, I got inspired. This card is for MMSC32. The heart paper is from DCWV Doodlin Around stack. Then the red is a scrap from that fab-o textured cardstock hubs bought. The chipboard pieces are all from Basic Grey Shapes collection. The ribbon is from Making Memories. Kaiser Craft furnished the rhinestones. I put together the beads on the hat pin. The rub on sentiment is from heidi grace. TFL

MOJO117 - Merry Christmas

How-dee!
Well, I think this may be my LAST Christmas card for the year. This one is for my postman. He's loyal, steadfast and true and any old Christmas card, just won't do! I hope he and his wife like it.
My hubs bought this textured cardstock from Joann's. I love it! The poinsettia is from Fred, She Said. Ribbon is from Joann's as well. The brads are from Creative Imaginations - Creative Cafe. I accented my poinsettia with red and green Stickles. The tag & sentiment are from a Keep In Touch kit. The border punch is EK Success. Inside sentiment reads: May your home be warm with Christmas cheer, and peace abide throughout the year. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Stampin' Up! Class Creations

Yippee! My first crafting class of any kind and my first Stampin' Up! class. Thanks Janice for taking me on in a class. I really had a good time and I think I learned a thing or two I didn't know before. On the snowman cards I used the wheel and a brayer. I have owned a brayer for several months now but never had much success. Janice says, maybe my cylinder that you apply the ink to is too hard. I may need a sponge type... Something on my 'wish list' from Santa, a Stampin' Up! brayer. :O)
The trees were my favortes to do. Even if braying was fun! For the cards on the top right, the tree stamp was inked and stamped and then stamped again. The we took a white gel pen and highlighted the tips of the branches with snow. The last set was heat embossing and these came out beautiful! TFL

2S4Y Kazan #41 - Merry Christmas

Not your Mother's Christmas Tree! No, I don't think so. I kind of tweaked Kazan's sketch at 2S4Y a little but I think it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. The tree is simply 1" circles punched and then I added a little silver glittery gel pen to them. I used some felt ribbon and 2 grosgrain ribbons. Kaiser rhinestones accent my sentiment. TFL

PCP CUTTLEBUG #54 - Noel

Hello There!
Seems not too many are participating in my PaperCraftPlanet Cuttlebug-ers Challenges at this time. But I totally understand. I have been very busy myself. Finally got the tree up and decorated today. The rest of my decorating will have to wait till next week. So if you're too busy to play along maybe you'll come back after the holidays and play in the challenges you've missed out on.
Now to Sunday's challenge. Make a tree. Simple as that. You can use a die or an embossing folder but make a tree. It can be any artful creation you want; card, altered item, scrap book page, whatever! Just make a tree!

***NOTE***
This will be the last Cuttlebug-ers challenge of 2009. I will return with the first challenge of 2010 on January 3, 2010. Thank YOU so much for all of your support and for playing along with me. AND in case I miss you, Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukkah, Happy Kwansa and a Happy, Healthy, & Prosperous New Year wish to you all! See ya next year!!!

JIC22 - Thank You

Thank You...
Jazzy at Jazzy's Inspirational Challenges chose me to be a guest designer for two weeks. I am not sure if I am supposed to start now or wait, but I loved the color combo in this week's challenge so I am playing along. I've had this dimensional sticker flower for a long time and never had any chance to use it, till now. The color scheme from this week's inspiration piece lent it self very well to this flower. So I jumped in with both feet. Can you tell I am bonkers for this Swiss Cheese border punch from EK SUCCESS??? Well I am! I also used my 1" round punch on the corners. Papers & ribbons are all scraps I had lying around. The sentiment is from Sweet & Sassy Stamps. TFL

TESC94 - Merry Christmas

Hi There!
Whether you've completed your Christmas/Holiday cards or not there are some terrific sketches and challenges out there. So if you have a spare minute to just "PLAY" then go get to it!
Announcement:
My friend Tenia picked me to be a GUEST DESIGNER on her Jazzy Inspirations Blog for TWO challenges!!! I am so excited and so honored! Thanks Jazzy!
Now to my card. This is for my favorite Aunt on my hub's side of the family and the fact that she is his only 'still' living relative from his parent's generation makes her even more "SPECIAL". But for me, she has always been my favorite. Aunt Selma is 81 this month and she recently went through a double by pass with some complications. She is well and doing fine now, so this is an EXTRA SPECIAL Christmas for us all!
Below is my card for Taylored Espressions Sketch Challenge #94. I received some beautiful pattern papers in a RAK and wanted to make something special and different for Aunt Selma's Christmas card. So have a peek below.

MMSC31 - Blue Christmas

Hello Again:
I took a little break from crafting to watch Julie & Julia. It was a terrific movie! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Now back to cards.
This little number was created for "priscillastyles" Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #31. I've used this little snowman before but never in monochromatics like this. I stamped him twice and used one for my image and one as a matte so I could add some snow drifts behind him. I stamped little blue snowflakes on my white background cardstock and then heat embossed them. He's colored with Copics, Spicas, Gel pens, Stampin' Up markers and Momento. The sentiment is hand written. Glittery cardstock is from the DCWV Glitter Matstack. Also used were my Spellbinders nesties, the scalloped oval and one of the tag dies. TFL

Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday Challenge - Gift bag

Hello:
Feeling much better today!
Here's my little gift bag I created for the Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday Challenge. I started with the little cello bag from Keep in Touch kits. Then I grabbed a piece of Bazzill red weave texture cardstock and started stamping snowflakes and swirlies all over it in white ink which I heat embossed with clear powder. I used the negative end of my Spellbinders Borderabilities Lattice as my snowy topper. I also cut the pinked circle out of the largest and next to largest dies and used them to frame the window of my bag. My cello bag is empty so it looks way to big for my cardstock. But I think once I fill it with goodies it will fit perfectly. I added a wired cording for my closure and a chipboard holly leaf with a berry brad to embellish. I could have taken this a lot farther with embellies, but I liked the little Gingerbread man too much to over do.
The dimensions for my cardstock bag holder are : 1 piece of cardstock 12 inches long by 4.25 inches wide. Scor and fold at 5.5" and 6.5". Cut a coordinating piece of cardstock 1.5" by 4.25" and scor and fold in half (this is your topper).

SSS33 - Happy Holidays

Hello:

Well, I kind of fell behind. I was sick Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. I lost 7 pounds in 9 days. Although I am grateful for the weight loss, I don't ever want to lose it that way again!

Now to my card. Sorry the picture is so lousy. I can never get glittery things to come out right on my pictures. But you get the gist of it. This card was created using the sketch challenge #33 at Sweet N Sassy Stamps Blog. The images are stamps created by Korin Sutherland for her Sunbeams collection at Sweet N Sassy Stamps. The little girl is supposed to be holding a balloon, but I masked it off. The glittery tree was sent to me in a RAK from Anna Lark.

ICS#46 - Peace

3 for 6 now! Here's another card created using the Inspirational Card Sketches challenge #46. More Keep in Touch goodies too. I love Kelly's stick pins! This one is two pins in one bead, very pretty. Everything you see here was from a Keep in Touch kit with the exception of the cardstock and some of the ribbons.

I am off now to wait for the TV repairman, who called me at 8:45 a.m. to tell me he wouldn't be here until between 1 and 3 p.m. It's 1 now. Wonder how long he'll keep me waiting. :O)

ICS#46 - Noel

Hey! I'm 2 for 6! Slowly but surely I will get them done. Heehee.
Here is a card I am very pleased with. I love the sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge #46. Believe it or not, I started the design for this card with the music sheet paper. Although, it ended up hardly being seen at all. I still like the way this one came together. The sentiment and ornaments are all rub ons from Little Yellow Bicycle. The little flowers were white and I used my markers to color them red. Then I added the tiny gold brads for the centers. The left border on my image/sentiment piece is hand cut. Border punches are Martha Stewart and EK Success. Ribbons came in a kit from Keep in Touch. The blue glitter cs is from a DCWV Glittery matstack.

C4C14 - Joy to the World

Greetings!
Here's my Christmas card for my mom & dad. It's a gift card holder. The little pouch is on the back which you will see in the 3rd photo below. I created this card using the challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges blog.
I punched the scalloped circle out then backed the inside of my card with some pattern paper. I used rub on snow flakes and white brads. There are bits and baubles from Keep in Touch. There's also another poinsettia from Fred She Said. Inside the card is where I mounted my poinsettia. The sentiment is a rub on from Little Yellow Bicycle.

On the back is more pattern paper running in different directions to add some contrast. I stamped my personal logo on there and heat embossed.

This card is pretty simple to duplicate if you have a few folks on your list that you need to give gift cards to. So give it a whirl. I'd love to see what YOU come up with!

Sketch Saturday Sketch #80 - Joy

Hello Once Again:
I haven't forgotten what I promised. I just spent the day working on getting my Christmas cards that I've already made, addressed and stamped. Those will go out in tomorrow's mail. This card was made for my neices Maya & Sarah and I used the sketch at Sketch Saturday's #80. I don't have any Whiff of Joy stamps but I used the word JOY in my creation. :O) Maybe you can tell it's an easel card. I recently learned this technique for a challenge and I do love to make these. Ingredients:
Alota Rubber Stamps (image), Crate Paper (pattern paper), Fred She Said (poinsettia digi die cuts), Stickles, Art Institute Glitter, Spicas, Fiskars (corner punch), EK Success (border punch), Keep In Touch (ribbon, Santa sticker, Joy brad)

I'd like to offer a little Thank You to Marion Evans for turning me on to Fred She Said. I love their flowers! Thanks Myrt.

That's it for today. It has been a REALLY long day. I addressed and stamped 25 cards and I still have 20 more to MAKE, address and stamp. But tomorrow the TV repair man is coming so I don't know what time I'll be getting back to it. Saturday I am attending a Stampin' Up! class to make 20 more cards. I have NEVER been to ANY classes on card making. Wish me luck.
