Live, Laugh, Love - Stampin' Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 27 melon mambo, pink pirouette, whisper white, certainly celery. Then I used my aqua painter with Color Box chalk ink in Rouge, Stampin' Up! Pretty in Pink and Pink Passion. My stems and leaves were hand drawn with my Permapaque' marker in Black. Then I colored the leaves and traced my stem with Copic marker #YG63. The Live, Laugh, Love stamps are from JustRite. My ribbon is a scrap of fabric I folded in half. I added a Basic Grey brad. Rhinestones are from Prima.

Ok Folks! I asked Elizabeth of SoftPencil Digitals if I could post a sketch challenge for us all to play with and she said YES!

So here ya go. It's pretty simple. The only RULE really is, you have to use SoftPencil images on your creation. (Not to worry, she has plenty of images to choose from and she even has a few freebies.

Use this sketch to make a card, scrapbook page, or altered item. Use it as is or tweak it, turn it on it's side, flip it, or just use it for a jumping off point. Whatever you create we'd love to see!

So show us your wares! Deadline is April 29th, that's just one week from today. Elizabeth has a nice prize to give the person whose creation is picked at random on the 29th. Now get creating and please tag your images with pcpsoftpencil
This image is the prize Elizabeth is giving away for this sketch challenge. Isn't it just lovely? You could make some "SWEET" Mother's Day cards with this!

Thanks and we can't wait to see what you create!

DEETS ON MY CARD:
I used SoftPencil's image and I made my background paper using PSP. Then I printed the image actual size 3 times. Then I cut and layered paper pieces. Congrats stamp is from Stampin' Up! Say it with Scallops set stamped in only orange.

Here Comes The Sun - EBAC88 Song

Here Comes the Sun - Everybody Art Challenge #88 inspiration is a Song. My song is Here Comes the Sun written by George Harrison and sung by The Beatles. Below are the song lyrics:
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,

and I say it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right
It's all right
My card was created using Michelle Zindorf's tutorial #319 Monochromatic Reflection.

Father - CTD90

Father - Color Throw Down #90. For some reason the row of piercing looks bent. It wasn't when I snapped the photo, so I am thinking it must be a shadow thing from the flash. The colors for the throw down are rich razzleberry, barely banana, old olive, and pale plum. The sentiment and swirlies are rub ons. They were just lying in my stash so I don't know who they are by. The sentiment, if you can't read it: Father - a father carries pictures where his money used to be.

Have a Bluebonnet Kind of Day! - Texas Tuesdays

Have a Bluebonnet Kind of Day! - Texas Tuesdays.
Howdy y'all! My firend Libby Hickson said, " I am fixin' to turn Tuesday into Texas Tuesday here on my little ol' blog, and by golly if I'm not back for another Texas-y post! But here's a bit of exciting news - a few of my fellow Texas stampers loved the idea too, so they are going to be joining me!!"
This week I am playing along, so be sure to check out Libby's Texas-inspired creation (I think it's GAW JUS!)! Going forward, we are going to be having Texas Tuesday posts on the first and third Tuesday each month, and TWO MORE of our favorite Texas gals will be playing too! Can I just say - Gawl lee!! And just for fun - if you feel at all inspired to play along with us, please do! Send Libby a link via comment on HER Texas Tuesday post, and on the fourth Tuesday each month SHE'LL share a little Cowgirl Roundup! Well, I say "cowgirl" - but please note that cowboys are more than welcome to play too! :-)

This week Libby was inspired by bluebonnets. So I played with that theme. I used my favorite Bluebonnet stamp from Texana Designs etsy shop (A Texas Company). They do good Texana Rubber! I stamped my image on whisper white with Imprintz white ink and heat embossed. I colored with Copics - yg23 New Leaf, yg00 Mimosa Yellow, BG01 Aqua Blue, B24 Sky, B60 Pale Blue Gray. I ran a piece of dark forest green cardstock through the Cuttlebug with the branches embossing folder. Corner punched with my EK Success corner punch. Added beads, brads and my computer generated (made up by me) sentiment and Voila! A Texas Tuesday creation!!!
Thanks to my sweet friend Libby for including me in her ELITE little group!

Libby asked me to post a photo of Seamus (our rescued pup) in the bluebonnets. So here ya go!

Sympathy - PCPCUTTLEBUG68

Ok, I thought I'd get this week's challenge posted early. I have finally gotten ahead of the game for once. Don't count on it lasting though. :O)
This week I would like you to use Shapeabilities dies as a stencil.
I started out with my Top Note die. I cut 2. Then I trimmed along the dashes on the first one. I took the trimmed piece and brayered with Mellow Moss, then Glorious Green. Then I turned the piece around and brayered Glorious Green, Only Orange and Barely Banana.
Then, I die cut my cross out of a piece of white cardstock. Then I taped my Shapeabilities cross die on that piece of cardstock. Using the die and cardstock as a stencil. I sponged over the entire cross with Basic Black. I also sponged/tapping along the edges. I took the second Top Note die cut piece and matted my image. I matted all of that on a piece of black cardstock to which I added some eyelets to the corners. Matted it all on orange cardstock. Remember to tag your creations pcpcuttlebug68

Hopefully I haven't confused you too terribly with my description. If you don't have any Shapeabilites just use a Nestie or Borderabilites as your stencil.

hi - Chelsea's Crafting Life's Pieces Challenge #24. Use her sketch. Well, I have tons of very feminine cards and her sketch is very feminine looking. So I took it in the opposite direction. I am pleased with my card. The stamping sets used for the sand dollar and the hi sentiment are from Stampin' Up! sets; Nature's Wonders and Say it with Scallops. 3 hours Stampin' Up!

Saturday night my Stampin' Up! Demo Janice had an open house. I arrived at 6 p.m. and stamped and colored and punched for 3 solid hours and look what I came home with!!! She had 25 samples to choose from and I actually picked out 13 but I simply ran out of time at 9 p.m. I was the only one there, so I had one on one attention and HELP! Janice is a sweetheart and we just chatted and she instructed me on some new techniques and how to use some new tools (well, new for me). It was a fun way to spend a Saturday night!

Poultry in Motion... - CSCC75 & US51

Poultry in Motion... - Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #75 - featuring the 2 time Oscar winning movie from 1955 : Oklahoma! with a touch of Gingham. And Unscripted Sketches Challenge #51. The image is from La-La Land Stamps, her name is Clover. I colored her with Copics. Since the movie was a musical, I added some sheet music designer paper. My gingham piece is from American Crafts. I brayered other it with some Close to my Heart ink in sunflower and auntumn terracotta. I used Stampabilities brown  and Marvy #6 brown to stamp some swirls (Autumn Leaves Swirls v.2) on sheet music. Then on the bottom piece I brayered some Encore Ultimatge Metallic Green. Then I stamped more swirls on it using the same ink. I punched holes and threaded my lacey ribbon through. Then I added a piece of fringed ribbon across the bottom (whenever I think of the movie I always hear "in the surrey with the fringe on top!'). So I added the fringe. My sentiment is computer generated and made up by me. My flowers are from Petaloo Flora Doodles and are handmade paper flowers; in gold, teal and salmon. I of course used the sketch from Unscripted Sketches.
This was a really fun project.
Once I had this project completed, I dashed off to my Stampin' Up! Demo Janice's house for some fun card making. I was there for 3 hours and I got 10 cards made. I'll try to get them posted in the morning.

WHOOHOO! What a creative day!

Friend - CSBZNMay2010sample & SPDS March

Friend - CardSketchesByZacksNana - May 2010 example card & SoftPencil Digital Studio March Challenge ribbons & bows. The little Japanese girl is one of SoftPencil's digitals. Isn't she just too cute! I had some scrap designer paper from Tinkering Ink Botanical Bliss paper pad. I don't know about you but when I think anything Asian or Oriental I think red, black and gold. Below you will see snapshots of how I created the black matte for my image and for the frame.
1) I used my 2 5/16" circle punch and punced my image. Then I punched a piece of black cardstock with my 3" scalloped circle. Then I used my 1" circle punch and punched around the white circle cutting half a scallop a whole scallop and another half scallop. Then I would skip the same. And so on. Below is how it turned out. It's not equal all around. But it really doesn't matter. It still  has that Oriental feel to it (think of the roofs of their buildings).

2) For my matte I punched my half flowers first. Then I cut two slits on either end of the two middle flowers. I slid the deckled rectangle nestie up into those slots leaving the flowers outside so the nestie would not cut through.

All Sewed Up! - JS4 & TSG49

All Sewed Up! - Just Scraps #4 - You've Been Tagged! make a tag & There She Goes #49 - PLEATS. I was invited by Jean at JustScraps to play along with the challenges, so I created this. I hand sewed my patchwork square. I sewed my pleats but I liked the look of the pearlized pins so I left them on my project. I also used the pins for the stamins in my pleated ribbon flower. This is a pretty cool tag. It has a flap that has a magnet in it and so it opens. I placed the little handmade tags inside. The large bead and two angels is a brooch. The bead has some of the same colors found in the patches so I just tied it into my tag ribbon.

To be eligible for the There She Goes giveaway, you are to create a card that features flowers and incorporates the color yellow, then go back to the TSG to add your name and a link to your project in the Mr. Linky that is located at the bottom of the challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (April 19). The winner will receive a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

Missing You - TJSDC

Missing You - Technique Junkie Scored Diamonds Card. I don't know if you can see it or not, but I have a diamond pattern embossed into my white cardstock. I used my Scor-Pal for my pattern, scoring at every inch one way then turning my cardstock to the left a quarter turn and scoring again. Sorry if my image looks blurry. I used Lynn Mercurio's tutorial on 3D stamping. Only I used yellow and orange inks and then I chalked inside the embossed areas.

hello friend - PCPCUTTLEBUG Challenge #66

hello friend - PCPCUTTLEBUG-ERS Challenge #66 - Shadow a nestie - using ink or chalks leaving a white frame. In my image above, I used the Nestie Labels 4. Once I die cut the white cardstock I left it in the die. Then I used my ColorBox Cat's Eyes in heliotrope and lime and just used a dauber to add my ink. When I had the depth of color I wanted I removed the cardstock from the die and that left me with the white frame. Easy peasy, lemon squeasy!
I sure hope you'll give this one a try. Think of the possibilities!

Family - CSCC74 - UP

Family: a unit that equals the loving sum of all parts. - Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #74 the Disney Animated Pixar Movie UP. Children love this movie and the adults really embrace the heartfelt themes of life and love that are beautifully brought out in this movie! If you haven't seen it yet - you must - the animation, humor and sweetness will touch your hearts!
The challenge requirement this week is to use some balloons in your creation, which is INSPIRED by the movie (balloons usually mean birthdays - but it doesn't have to!). For me this movie represents family, a unit that equals the loving sum of all it's parts. You see; Carl, Russell, Dug and yes even Steve and her little ones are a family. They are a loving unit the sum of all their individual parts which make up a family. This version of "family" is all around us. Have you ever sat on a park bench and just watched the people all around you? Notice a families make-up; most are mother-father-child. Some are father-father-child or mother-mother-child. And some are even mother-child or father-child. Some are AfricanAmerican, AsiaAmerican and so on and so forth. It is so obvious that age, race, nationality - none of this matters. When it comes to family - it's makeup is simply - the loving sum of all it's parts. If you haven't seen UP please rent it TODAY! You'll LOVE it!

DEETS:
I brayered my white cardstock in 3 varied shades of blue. Then I masked off parts of my sky and pounced in some white ink to make my clouds. I ballons are stamps from There She Goes. I colored them with my Stampin' Up! markers and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I punched the fence with my Martha Stewart fence border punch (Carl & Ellie's yard was fenced with a picket fence). The sentiment is a sticker from Making Memories.
