SSC100

Above is my entry for the Challenge at Sunday Stamps #100. I chose purple, pink and orange for my color palette. I am quite pleased. I colored the flower from Chocolate Baroque's Fancy Flowers #UA5SP0422, the Sketched Hummingbird from Stampabilities and the sentiment from Reverse Confetti. The banners are from the Dear lizzy paper stack called Lucky Charm. I added a little shimmer to my hummingbird with Zazzles Blossom and Evergreen.

The sketch for the challenge is below.

Pop on over to Sunday Stamps and try out this sketch challenge.

Freshly Made 183

Using the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches I created the card above.

I don't have a professional set up for photographing my card so this image does not do this card justice. The image is stamped in Versa Mark ink onto Always Artichoke cs. Then using Perfect Pearls in powder form, I took a small paint brush, picked up a little of the powder with the bristles and in a circular motion applied the powder to the Versa Mark ink. Its a really fun technique and like Forrest Gump's mother always said,
It's like a box of chocolates... You never know what you're going to get."

Below is the sketch for this week at Freshly Made Sketches it is #183.

Cajun Cabin

Tuesday Morning Sketches #297. Coloring is therapy for me. So Monday when I started stamping and coloring this I had some heavy thoughts on my mind. I finally was able to complete the coloring and making into a card this morning. Hope you like the little scene I have created.

Subtle

Today I am playing along with ColourMe...!#67

AND

For my card I chose a base of Pistachio Pudding, a matte of Rose Red and bordered my focal image with Blushing Bride. I used markers to color my image. Then I spritzed a little water on my stamp to give that water colored effect. Added the sentiment and some little jewels to make it Zing!

Masculine Bister Card

Using my Versa Mark pen and my circles stencils with white embossing powder I created the background. Then I sprinkle green and blue Bister onto the card. Then spritzed with water. The truck is a Deadbeat Designs stamp I colored with my Memento Markers and my silver gel pen.

I am quite pleased with the way this turned out.

CTD337

Orange, Light Blue, Kraft and Limey Green are the challenge colors this week at ColorThrowDown #337.

For the challenge I chose to make a set of cards for my mom. She always loves having some of my cards on hand. So I figured I'd do this little set for her. I just purchased this Memory Box die called Pierson Corner. It looks so fabby when cut! I just ran my cardstock through my Big Shot and die cut each color. Then with my two way glue pen I mixed and matched the die cut pieces into my cards. I love the way they all turned out and I wouldn't be afraid to bet I'll be trying this with other color combos!

MonikasBirthdayChallenge

My sweet friend Monika is celebrating a birthday this month! She wants to celebrate with a challenge. So her challenge is to CASE one of her cards. For my CASE card I chose the card below.

This was a fun challenge for me as I don't create a lot of masculine cards. Which happens to be Monika's favorite card to make.
I hope she likes my attempt at CASE-ing her card. If you'd like to help Monika celebrate her birthday month, hop on over to her blog and play along. Just click HERE to follow the link.

More Bister

Today, I used Bister with a stamped image and at mask.
To begin, I stamped with flower onto cs using Versa Mark. Then heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then I punched a circle from another piece of cs and used it as a mask over my stamped flower. Then I sprinkled Red and Mahogany colored Bister on my piece. Spritzed with a little water and watched the magic happen. When it was dry, I used yellow and pink ink pads and sponges to work in the color on the flower. This one is now ready to make a card.
YouTube has several video tutorials on Bister. You just have to type in Bister into the search.

Bister N Bleach

Hi There! Yes I am back with another Bister/Bitre piece. This card is 4 x 4 inches. I used Green and Yellow Bister. Then I stamped the bird, leaves and flowers with Staz-On black. Using a fine paint brush and a little bleach, I painted bleach onto the body of the bird, the leaves and the flowers. Then with my white gel pen I went back in and added some white  centers to my flowers and the bird's eye. I need to put a little black in his eye and it will be ready to turn into a greeting card.

Freshly Made

Today I played with the sketch over at Freshly Made. This card was created for Challenge #180 -- using the sketch below.
To start off I tried something "NEW". Well at least it is new to me. Have YOU ever heard of Bister/Bitre??? YouTube has several tutorials on Bister. Just type Bister in the search bar at YouTube. You won't be sorry.

I hadn't until last week. You see I was just looking around on Pinterest for some new techniques I could try on my cards. I was getting into a rut and wanted to do something different. So when I stumbled across Bister I said, "I've got to get me some of that!" Then I immediately popped over to I Brake for Stamps and bought all 8 colors. Very reasonably priced!!! You get these 8 little pots. Mind you, a little goes a LONG way! On my card I used Red, Mahogany and Yellow Bister. Spritzed with clear water and sat back and watched the magic happen!!!
Once my Bister piece was dry I took a piece of my clear sheets from Stampin' Up! and stamped the large flower from the Nature's Perfection Sale-a-brations set in Versa Mark and heat embossed with white em powder. Then I trimmed around the bottom edges of the stamped flowers, so I would have that rounded effect that is on the FM sample.
I then stamped the Hello from SU! set My Friend in black ink on SU! dsp. Then I stamped the bird and its feet and feather from SU! Language of Friendship set in Versa Mark and heat embossed in white. Then I flicked in some real red with my marker. I assembled the bird and used dimensionals to attach it to the sentiment. Finished it off with some SU! twine and some beads from my stash.
Then I called this one DONE!

ColorThrowDown

ColorThrowDown#336 -- For my card I used Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Dusty Durango and Pistachio Pudding. I started with a clean clear acrylic block and just smooshed the ink pad in descending order on to the block. If there was excess ink I simply wiped it away with a damp paper towel. Then smooshed the next color and so on. Before applying paper to ink, I spritzed with block with a little water. With the block on a flat surface I laid white cardstock to ink. Let sit until all of the color was absorbed. Using my heat tool, I dried the cardstock. Then I stamped the tree from SU! set Forever Young and the sentiment is from TPC Studios. The set is called Faith Friends. Using my SU! markers in Pistachio Pudding and Dusty Durango I colored the leaves and the flowers framing my sentiment. Using a white gel pen I highlighted the tree and swing.

The sentiment reads : May God look down from Heaven above and bless your day with peace and love. --Thena Smith

I hope you all are having a blessed Easter weekend! Jesus is Risen! Let us sing praises and glory to God in the highest!!!
